Laura Lemus

| Laura Lemus’ practice focus is in all areas of Family Law. Prior to joining Holmes, Diggs & Eames, Laura maintained her own office specializing in litigation, especially Probate and Family Law. Laura served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Texas Office of the Attorney General, Open Records Division from 2007 until 2011. She was a presenter on privacy at the yearly Open Government Conference.
In November of 2007, Laura was licensed by the State Bar of Texas. Laura is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and was awarded a post-graduate Public Interest Fellowship to work with Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA) in Houston. At AVDA, Laura represented domestic violence victims in family law matters under the supervision of a licensed attorney. During law school, Laura interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Criminal Family Law Division where she assisted in obtaining protective orders for domestic violence victims. Laura was on the Executive Board of the Advocates, UH Law Center’s advocacy organization and was the Director of the Hippard Novice Mock Trial Competition. Laura is a member of the Houston Bar Association Family Law Section, Family Law Section of the Texas Bar Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the Association of Women Attorneys. |
